A young man I respect sent me a curious piece by Brian Merchant entitled The Girl Who Would Live Forever. Brian writes about the suffering two parents went through as their young daughter succumbed to brain cancer, and their decision to have their daughter frozen for posterity. The Naovaratpongs’ tragedy was made worse by their materialistic presuppositions – ideas likely shared by most people reading the article.
